President Donald Trump has announced a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran, if shipping is allowed through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi says Tehran will agree to the end in fighting if attacks against Iran are halted.

Israel carries out new air strikes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday morning and says the two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon, despite Pakistan’s prime minister saying it does.

Trump announced that the US-Iran ceasefire about 90 minutes before his deadline for Iran to make a deal.

Pakistan, which has been acting as a mediator, invites both sides for talks in Islamabad on Friday, while UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer is travelling to the Gulf to discuss support for the ceasefire.

Reports say Oil prices have fallen sharply, but energy prices will remain elevated for some time.

Meanwhile, since the ceasefire started there have been reports of attacks continuing in the UAE, Kuwait, and at an oil refinery in southern Iran
