
Students have been advised to embrace education enriched with local and international curriculum for a better future, the charge was made by the Rector of the British Transatlantic Polytechnic, Igoba, Akure-Ado Road, Ondo State, Dr Joe Obe during the institution’s 3rd matriculation ceremony.
The institution which is the first private Polytechnic in Ondo State, got the Federal Government approval and the license to operate as an independent Polytechnic in 2023.
Meanwhile, the matriculated students were assured that the institution has also gained accreditation from the British UK Awarding and Assessment Board.
The Founder who is also the Rector, Dr Joe Obe congratulated the Students for being part of the institution, stating that there was no disruption on the academic calendar.
Dr Obe said that the institution is setting the student up for the local and the global competition, as the institution’s curriculum is enriched with international content.
Also, he urged about 150 students who were matriculated today, advising the students to focus more on their studies by making their parents proud
While speaking on some of the challenges faced by the private institution, the Rector lamented on government policies which have not been favourable to the Polytechnic, stating that there are some incentives that should be given to them as it was done in other civilized countries.
In his own comments, the Acting Register of the Institution, Caleb Olumakinwa said since the inception of the school, he boasted that the British Transatlantic has been making progress.
Olumakinwa stressed that despite the challenges faced, he assured that the British Transatlantic School will meet up with the set target in the coming year.
Speaking to Viral 98.5 FM, a student of Computer Science and Cyber Security, Aisat Elizabeth expressed joy for gaining admission into the school but vowed to make her parents proud.
Also, Josiah Akinloye, a student of Mass Communication lauded the management of the institution, promising to be a world class graduate and also charged his fellow colleagues to embrace formal education.
Meanwhile, the Obaloogun of Igoba, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeniyi Adelewa lauded the establishment of the Polytechnic in the community, which has brought development to the ancient town.
The event had in attendance, JAMB representatives, paramount rulers from Akure North Local Govt and other stakeholders.
